After Katie O’Hara watches her husband’s murder, she takes the trail west to find a new life in Montana as Scarlett Smith. Her brother-in-law finds her a job at Trail’s End Ranch where his former partner in the U.S. Marshal’s Service, Cade Henderson, is the foreman. When her past finds her in Montana, Scarlett must decide whether she can trust Cade not only with her heart but also with her life. Has her unscrupulous brother-in-law sent her to Cade to protect her or to punish her?
Wasn’t sure it was possible to maneuver so much romance, suspense, and oodles of other goodies into such a condensed package – but this author was victorious. The mysterious flow of the story was very intriguing. It was like having two (2) stories in one (1) – reading it the first time and uncovering the truth; then re-reading knowing that truth. Ms. Moncrief did an impressive job when she created Cade’s character.
