Spotlight + Interview + Giveaway ~ Should've Known Better by Cassandra Carr

How did you come up with the idea for Should've Known Better?

This is a funny story. Should’ve Known Better, many, many iterations ago, was hockey fanfic. My mom, who’s also a writer (Cynthia Racette), suggested I fictionalize it and try to get it published. Because it’s been re-written so many times I can’t really say where the idea came from because the idea has been reborn again and again.

Which scene or dialogue was the most difficult for to write? Why?

Hmmm. Good question! I think the scenes where Sarah and Sebastian are having trouble. I’m not great at writing fights. I’m a lover, not a fighter, and that’s reflected in my prose. ;-)

What are you currently working on? Future projects?

I’m currently writing a male/male story which is a follow-on to my February release See the Light. I will then write a novella for Decadent Publishing which will be included in their Calendar Men series. Then I need to write the fifth bull rider book, and it appears I’ll be writing another book related to Should’ve Known Better. Readers have asked for Rob’s story.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published?

Oh gosh, there have been so many! I’d say having people actually recognize me at an event and be excited to meet me. I’m still amazed by that and keep wanting to turn around to see who they’re looking at.

Do you have any specific last thoughts that you want to share with us?

I just want to say how much I appreciate my readers. I do this because you guys seem to like reading my stuff. Without you I’d be nothing. If you want to see what’s going on with me, you can friend me on Facebook; follow me on Twitter or check out my Website.

Sara Jenkins, a math geek and hockey fanatic, is thrilled when the NHL hires her as an advisor for the Buffalo Storm. She gets to marry her two loves in this perfect job.

Sebastian St. Amant is a young hockey player looking to make the jump from the minors to the big leagues. His lifelong dream is within reach, but he needs to convince the Storm's management and coaches he's ready.

When Sara and Sebastian meet, sparks immediately fly. Both want to succeed, but neither can ignore the growing attraction and a relationship is out of the question—Sara’s an influential staff member and Sebastian’s a player, not to mention over ten years her junior.

But the impossible becomes the necessary when they can no longer fight their attraction. As everything crashes around them, the strength of their relationship is tested. Will it weather the storm, or should they have known better?
