Review ~ Rules of Entanglement (Fighting for Love, #2) by Gina L. Maxwell

Seven days. And seven rules to break...

District Attorney Vanessa McGregor firmly believes that structure and order are the stuff that dreams are made of. Happiness can be planned - and it starts with seven rules she's laid out for her future. But as she's organizing her best friend's wedding in Hawaii, all of Vanessa's best-laid plans are about to meet their match in a wickedly hot MMA fighter...

Jackson "Jax" Maris is focused on surfing, training and fighting. That is, until he opens up his big mouth, and finds himself having to pretend he's engaged to his little sister's best friend, Vanessa. When they're force to share a romantic bungalow, however, their little charade suddenly takes a turn for the seriously sexy. And while Jax is definitely not part of Vanessa's long-term plan, he has seven days - and seven naughty nights - to turn her seven-rule plan upside down.
I will admit I was hooked on the Fighting for Love series the moment I read Seducing Cinderella. While Rules of Entanglement is a standalone, Seducing Cinderella is the story of Reid Andrews and Lucie Miller falling in love – you don’t want to miss their story.

Lucie and Reid are getting married at the very exclusive Mau Loa resort in Hawaii, but when Lucie gets sick it is up to her best friend, Vanessa, and her brother, Jackson, to organize the wedding. With a week until the wedding Vanessa plans to get Lucie’s wedding organized, relax, and maybe have a vacation fling with a sexy local. Enter Jackson, a sexy local, to bad having a fling with him goes against every rule she has set for herself.

At first I was a little annoyed with Vanessa and all her rules – I kept chanting “Screw the rules, you’re on vacation. Jump that sexy man.” However, the author did an amazing job of providing a back-story that was realistic and explained her inability bend her rules. On the other hand, I LOVED Jackson’s character. At first it was because of his ability to get under Vanessa’s skin and annoy the hell out of her. Then it was his passion for everything – life, fighting, his sister, and especially for Vanessa. These two make the perfect couple; a matched set.

This is a HIGHLY recommend must read! And it looks like we are at least getting 2 more installments - Fighting Irish & Untitled
