Cool off with Christmas in August!
What’s your fun family tradition?
Christmas in July has been done. This year, it’s Christmas in August!
Hey, why not? It’s 96 degrees where I am, and I could use some cool thoughts. How about a little winter romance?
Personally, I’m a Christmas junkie. You don’t really even need to celebrate to get swept up in the good cheer. It’s such a great season, full of love and good wishes and get-togethers. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy thinking about it.
What? That’s just the humidity you say? Oh, yeah, it’s still August.
But I say beat the heat and think a little bit about family traditions. Now, traditions don’t always have to center around the holidays, but in the case of me new story Paper Wishes, they do. Jill and her daughter make wishes, and fold them into origami stars. Later, they open them up to see if their wishes came true.
Neat, huh? This makes me think of the time capsules my kids made in first grade. We have them all hidden away, and we’ll open them when they graduate college to see if their wishes came true. Doesn’t that sound like fun?
I think everyone has neat little traditions like this… some they may not want to admit to, but that doesn’t make them fun.
What fun family traditions do you have?
