Bus as a client, Gwen is off-limits—until a threat from Neil’s past returns… and Gwen is caught in the crossfire. Now to keep her safe he will risk it all: his career, his life… and his heart.
Catherine Bybee first captured my attention with her sweet contemporary romance series, Not Quite. I love this authors writing, and I recommend her to both contemporary and suspense romance fans.
This was a very effortless read -- the flow and pace were exceptional. I read this entire book in a single day. My initial reservations about Lady Gwendolyn Harrison being a spoiled, pampered, princess were quickly quashed. She is a well-written character with many layers permitting her great range without distorting her character. The author complemented her character well by pairing her with the very mystifying Neil. His quiet confidence and assertion grabbing my attention from page one. He is a strong hero capable of protecting Gwen by utilizing the skills taught to him by our military. Gwen’s adaptability and Neil’s inexplicable expertise made an intriguing romantic adventure.
It is not necessary to read the previous books, neitherWife by Wednesday nor Married by Monday, prior to enjoying this book. I have not yet read either of them, but I felt immediately conformable with the all the characters. However, I was intrigued by the brief mentions of the characters from those books I will be backtracking and reading their stories.
Up next...Single by Saturday it features Gwen’s roommate, Karen Jones, and Zach Gardner.
