Guest Post + Spotlight + Giveaway ~ The Dysus Dreamer (The Halfling Chronicles) by J.A. Garland

"A powerful half-demon is kidnapped, bloodthirsty werewolves are on the rise, and a planet is dying. A demon warrior and dark elf joining forces are the least of their worries."

Demon warrior, Slade Aesus, is determined to destroy the werewolves controlling his cousin. But a beautiful elf, consumed by her own vengeance, finds the wolves first. Botching her assassination attempt, Annwyn has the most powerful Packs in the world biting at her heels. Both fiercely independent, can the two join forces long enough to fulfill their missions and stay alive?

Thanks for allowing me to join in on all the fun, Heather. You have quite the happening site, I’m happy to be here, and excited to tell you about ten things that inspire me. So, let’s jump right in…

1. Family
My family is a never-ending source of inspiration. They are like all of us with their share of fabulous days, and less than wonderful moments. What makes them so special to me is their ability to see through the worst of times, and point out the sunlight ahead.

2. Friends
Seriously, who would we write about if you guys weren’t around? When you read about a character and you think, “Hmmm, that sounds like me,” chances are high, it is you!

3. Co-Workers
Same as above, we are getting snips and pieces of really good material, just by observing you guys hard at work.

4. My Crit Partner
When I feel like putting down the pen, or in my case, the Mac, my critique partner starts hassling me for the next chapter. Thanks, JC, for keeping me going!

5. Readers
You guys are amazing. Thank you for your little email notes and website comments. I read and appreciate each and every one!

6. Other Authors
All it takes is a good book to get my fingers itching write. Thank you all for cranking out such good stuff!

7. Bloggers
Thank you for allowing me to hijack your blogs every now and again. Meeting your followers is inspirational, rewarding, and always a hoot!

8. Running
Okay, I’m something of a cheese puff aficionado, so I run to keep off the pounds. And it just so happens that while I’m running, I come up with some really great writing ideas. It’s one of those win-win situations.

9. Music
I think I could single handedly keep Pandora and iTunes in business, lol. For me, music is a powerful inspiration.

10.The Book
Holding and reading my first book, Instinct, inspires me. It gives me stomach flutters every time I look at the cover and flip the pages.

Now it’s your turn to tell me what inspires you. Enter the Rafflecopter contest below for a chance to win ebooks, a monogrammed tote bag, or a key chain light.

  1. Inspiration comes in many forms and shapes. Depending on the type of inspiration I need, I use what ever is around me. Sometimes a trip tot he store can provide inspiration. And sometimes, all it takes is some quiet time to think.
