Review + Giveaway ~ Fury of Desire (Dragonfury #4) by Coreene Callahan

No warrior of the Nightfury pack is more complicated or damaged than Wick.

Scarred from a childhood of slavery and torture, Wick cannot bear the touch of another person. But all bets are off when he meets J.J. Solares. When she is unjustly imprisoned, Wick agrees to help rescue and keep her from harm. But Wick lives a life of self-imposed isolation and venturing into the world to seek justice for J.J. may be more than he can bear.

Brutalized by the harsh reality of prison, J.J thinks she is hallucinating when a majestic dark-haired god sweeps in to save her—and Wick is shaken to his core by the attraction he feels for J.J. But neither is out of harm’s way yet. When they find themselves at the center of a Dragonkind war, they are forced to make the ultimate choice—surrender to their fears or accept each other’s love.

I have craved Wick since the first moment we were introduced to these dragon warriors. With a mysterious past, this fire dragon’s story was sure to be filled with passion. I loved how the author slowly reveals both his tortured past and the lasting impact it has on his present. Considering he is feared by the resident females of Black Diamond, cannot stand to be touched, and has a VERY co-dependent relationship with Venom – it would seem impossible to develop/maintain a mated relationship. However, the author did an outstanding job of creating the ultimate female for Wick; someone that shares a similar past. Jamison, Tania’s sister, has had the worst luck when it comes to the male species. I was a little disappointed that she was not a more independent individual; considering her history with possessive men.

This is very well-written that each event drags you fully into the experience. Ms. Callahan also introduces a new character that pushed the book above the others. I cannot wait to see how this new storyline works out.

About The Author

As the only girl on all guys hockey teams from age six through her college years, Coreene Callahan knows a thing or two about tough guys and loves to write about them. Call it kismet. Call it payback after years of locker room talk and ice rink antics, but whatever you call it, the action better be heart stopping, the magic electric, and the story wicked, good fun.

After graduating with honors in psychology and working as an interior designer, she finally succumbed to her overactive imagination and returned to her first love: writing. And when she’s not writing, she’s dreaming of magical worlds full of dragon-shifters, elite assassins, and romance that’s too hot to handle. Callahan currently lives in Canada with her family and writing buddy, a fun-loving golden retriever.
